Ride Thoughts with Elijah Davis

Ride Thoughts with Elijah Davis

Aye Dudes and Dudettes, what up? It's ya boy, Dude_Mungus. My friends call me Eli—or simply Dude. Before any of that, I’m a husband, a father, and a man of faith.

Five years ago, I felt like something was missing from motorcycle content creation. That’s why I decided to start my journey spreading joy and positive vibes, showing the real side of motorcycle riding. Fathers, mothers, sisters, brothers, uncles, aunties, grandparents—we're all regular people sharing a passion for motorcycles.

The rest is history. With my background as a motorcycle technician for Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and BMW, I’m able to spread knowledge while inspiring others to start their own motorcycle journey.

I love riding motorcycles, the lessons I’ve learned, and the amazing people I’ve met along the way.

Who or what inspired you to start riding?
I grew up watching my pops and my uncle ride motorcycles. Later on, I found out my Paw Paw used to race motorcycles while he was in the Army.

What was your first bike, and how did it feel to ride it?
My first bike was a 2006 Yamaha R6. I was so nervous. I remember that first ride—the first time feeling the wind rush across my body. I just knew I was flying. When I looked down, I was only doing 35 mph with a line of traffic behind me 😂 Hilarious.

If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If I could ride anywhere in the world, it would be the racetrack at Laguna Seca. I love track riding.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out riding?
Best advice I can give to a new rider is take a safety course and ride protected—aka, ride with official motorcycle gear.

What’s the best piece of riding advice you've ever received?
Best piece of riding advice I’ve ever gotten was “Ride your ride,” meaning don’t push past your limit.

What’s your favorite season to ride in, and why?
Fall is my favorite season to ride in because it’s not too hot or cold. The bike loves it, and not to mention—it feels amazing. In the fall, I can ride all day.

Do you listen to music while riding? If so, what’s on your playlist?
Heck yeah, I do 😂 I love music 🎶 and being a musician. I listen to everything—Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Craig Morgan, Blake Shelton, Justin Bieber (shh 🤫 this is my guilty pleasure), and the list goes on.

What was the moment you knew you were hooked on riding?
The moment I knew I was hooked on riding was before I even got a motorcycle. I sat on the back of a couch, threw on my helmet, and pretended I was riding 😂 At that point, I knew I was hooked.

How does riding impact your mental health?
Riding impacts my mental health by allowing me to unplug from everything else. Immediately, I’m in a better mood—feeling 10x lighter. After a ride, my swag is on a million.

What’s your go-to piece of riding gear?
My favorite piece of riding gear? This is a tough one—I love all my NBT gear. I’ll have to say the LTR 2.0 pants. I am literally in these every ride. I have to add in the new leather gloves—sheesh, they are the perfect accessory.
