Ride Thoughts with Jack Stevens

What’s up everyone! My name is Jack. I’m a full-time motorcycle content creator based in Colorado. I’ve been chasing adrenaline since the day I could walk. I found motorcycles at a young age and was always inspired to ride by YouTubers and family friends. I got my first bike three years ago and started posting content that reflected my personality—and people loved it :)
A month ago, I quit my job to pursue my dream of becoming a content creator. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. No guarantees—just me, my camera, and my chaotic brain trying to keep a roof over my head. I can’t thank my community enough for what they’ve done for me. I’m forever blessed to say it all worked out. Making people happy has always been a priority in my content, and I try my best to never lose sight of that. If I can make someone smile after a stressful day, then I’ve done my job :) I hope you can find some inspiration in my story to write your own...
Who or what inspired you to start riding?
The legendary Walterrific. I wouldn’t be where I am now if I hadn’t stumbled across his channel when I was younger. Once I got older, all my friends started getting motorcycles. I rode on the back of one of their bikes for 30 seconds... and a month later, I bought my first bike. The rest is history.
What does freedom mean to you when you’re on your bike?
People always talk about “helmet confidence,” and that’s honestly a great way to sum it up for me. I’ve always been an introvert, but when I get on my motorcycle, I feel like nobody’s watching. I can let loose and do whatever I want.
If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Iceland. It’s been a dream destination of mine for the longest time, and to combine that with motorcycles would be a dream come true.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out riding?
Always ride your own ride. It’s not worth trying to prove to others that you can do something or ride fast when you know you can’t. Nothing is promised on motorcycles. Protect your life—not your ego.
What’s your go-to piece of riding gear?
Always the NBT cargo pants—but you can’t ever forget the “Content Creator 3’s” (my white boots). I wear them everywhere, which is probably why they’re no longer white... and are slowly turning brown.

Do you listen to music while riding? If so, what’s on your playlist?
There’s never a moment I’m not listening to music. I prefer 2000s club music, divorced dad rock, and Sleep Token—especially while riding.
What’s your favorite season to ride in and why?
Autumn. There’s something about the leaves changing colors, the wind, the smell of pollen, and the sunsets. It’s bittersweet because it means winter is on the way, but I think that’s why I cherish it so much more.
What’s a skill or habit you think every rider should develop?
Plan an escape route every 10 seconds. Watch every car around you like a hawk. Predict the worst-case scenario—so if it happens, you’re not left unprepared.
Do you have a personal philosophy or mantra when it comes to riding?
Every time I get on my motorcycle, I stop for 30 seconds to make sure I’m in a good state. I remind myself that any ride could be my last. I do this to keep my loved ones in mind—every single time I do something stupid. It keeps the fear in the back of my mind and helps me stay within my comfort zone, fully aware of everything around me.
What’s one myth about riding that you want to debunk?
Riding in the rain isn’t as dangerous as everyone makes it out to be. I’ve had just as many close calls in the rain as I have in perfect weather conditions.
Do you prefer riding solo or with a group, and why?
I prefer riding solo. Group rides can be scary and they’re not for everyone. Let’s be honest—there are a lot of irresponsible people out there, and some of them also like to ride motorcycles. Put irresponsibility on two wheels, around 50 other people, and there’s a good chance sh*t goes wrong. Riding solo is always a good time :)
