What was your first bike, and how did it feel to ride it?

My first motorcycle was a ninja 300 and I absolutely loved it. I felt like I was on top of the world. I felt like I was invincible, which wasn't good. But I quickly learned I wasn't and then I had to be very careful. They gave me a whole new sense of freedom and a whole new feeling as to what freedom was. All I wanted to do every night was going right no matter how cold it was. Is my new favorite way to get around and my new favorite way to go explore.

What's your favorite memory from a ride?

My favorite memory for a ride is when I had my old group together in my town when I just started riding. We'd be out almost every day if not every single Friday night riding well into the night around our small town for hours on end hitting the same roads just talking laughing and making the most of the time we had together

What do you look for in riding gear? Style, comfort, or protection?

In riding gear, I mainly look for comfort as well as protection. I feel like if I'm not comfortable on the bike I'm not gonna ride as well. I'm gonna make more mistakes. I'm gonna hesitate more. I'm essentially not gonna be as in tune with the bike as I should be. So being as comfortable as possible, while maintaining some level of protection is very important to me and that's where NBT has become the perfect fit for riding gear. I am able to stay comfortable while on the bike while having protection, it's the perfect win-win situation.

What’s the most challenging ride you’ve ever done?

The most challenging route I've ever done has to be my trip to Spain that I just took. I had a five day riding school with a previous Kawasaki rider and we were training on Mini Moto's. I thought I was a pretty good rider until I got to that track and man did it kick my butt I was learning everything from foot positioning to body positioning to Apex to outside everything I didn't know I learned there which has transitioned me to be an even better rider now.

If you could ride anywhere in the world, where would it be?

If I could ride anywhere, it wouldn't be one place. I think it'd be a very long trip across Europe or even across the US up to Alaska. I think riding through multiple different places to experience a vast scenery in styles of riding would be the most fun.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out riding?

TAKE IT SLOW! Do not rush it. Be afraid of your bike and take it super easy as soon as you start to get comfortable that's when you make mistakes. Always make sure that you are riding super defensively and ride like you're invisible. Do not feel the need to rush to upgrade. Take your time and learn at your own pace.

What’s the best piece of riding advice you've ever received?

The best piece of advice that I've received is to ride like you are invisible. I was taught/told to ride like no one can see you. Because of how small you are when you're on a motorcycle you're usually not seen. When riding you’re almost bracing for people to merge in front of you or turn in front of you. With this mentality, it saved me from a few different scenarios where I've almost been hit, but been able to slow down or dodge out of the way because I expect it. 

What does being part of the riding community mean to you?

Being a part of the riding community means that I have friends all over the country. I can fly anywhere in the US and essentially know somebody or make friends with people that have motorcycles just because I ride as well. When I broke down in Florida in a small random town, I ended up having six new friends by the end of the day all because we ride motorcycles. It's something so simple that we can bond over and being able to have those friends that can bond over the same hobby means that you'll never be left alone wherever you go.

What was the moment you knew you were hooked on riding?

I knew I was hooked on writing when I discovered moto vloggers and the Isle of Man TT. I would sit in my room and watch hours upon hours of YouTube videos from these creators as well as the races. I became addicted to it and now it's become my job and I couldn't be more blessed and then after getting my first bike, I knew that I would never stop.

What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you while riding?

The craziest thing that's happened to me when I was riding was when I was with somebody buddies and a guy in a car ended up, pulling a hatchet on us, as if he was gonna throw it out the window like it was call of duty. I rode up next to him, expecting him to flip me off, but instead held up this hatchet. From there I couldn't help but to laugh because that was the last thing I expected. 

Do you listen to music while riding? If so, what’s on your playlist?

This is going to sound crazy, but I do listen to music, but I don't have a playlist. I play whatever I'm feeling in the moment whether it's white girl music, Zach Bryan, or anything else that might just hit at the moment I always have music going, but no playlist is made.

What’s the longest trip you’ve taken on your bike?

The longest I've taken is from my town of Kearney, Nebraska all the way up to Monowi nebraska, which is a population of one of where an elderly woman who lives there and runs the only restaurant. It was about three hours one direction. I had to jump from town to town to make sure I had enough gas to get there. I also carried water bottles in case I ran out of gas because I was in rural Nebraska.
